Gordon Rayner, Martin Evans, Nicola Harley, and Claire Duffin had an article the August 21, 2014 edition of London’s “The Telegraph,” write that “a British National Health Service (NHS) doctor from east London, who was previously accused of kidnapping Western journalists in Syria — may hold the key to identifying the jihadi who beheaded James Foley,” according to intelligence sources the paper talked with.
“Shajul Islam was arrested and charged with kidnapping a British journalist, John Cantile, in 2012…but, was released after his trial collapsed when Mr. Cantile was unable to give evidence,” the Telegraph noted. Shajul Islam’s brother, Razul, 21, also traveled to Syria; and, is believed to be fighting with the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), the terrorist group that murdered Foley.”
