Excellent. I thought that I was the only one with an interest in this. Watching a production on youtube.com, was interesting on how to make the paracord slings. Do not forget, archery equipment, knives, hatchets, brass knuckles, and improvised items. All are extremely useful. Nothing to laugh at here and in mano-a-mano, many items can provide food, as well as defense.
I am a sailor these days, so I like knots. Paracord has a lot of uses. haha. I made my key chain from 30′ of paracord, a boat shackle on one end and a hook on the other end. You can simply break a melted spot and pull on the ends and you instantly unravel it for the cord to be used for something else.
Sounds great! While you are out sailing, don’t forget that you can rig a line onto a crab trap or lobster trap. Set a sail, lash just about anything aboard the vessel. Make shoe laces and garrot if unfortunate enough to have pirates board you. You can rig a sight for azimuth and navigate roughly. Tack a tarp for hasty deck shelter or shore shelter. Fasten a plastic jug for a float marker, or fill the jug with water and drag it as a sea anchor.
I have a question for you, regarding your paracord weaving skills. I just thought of this, what if you tie an anchor knot onto a two ounce bank sinker, or heavier sinker, then from the end of the knot, fashion about seven inches and weave a cobra, and maybe weave over the sinker if you like. No, it is not a lethal BLACKJACK, rather it can be used to dispatch a fighting fish with a few shots on the head. (What, I’m a bad influence?)
